ABOUT MISTY:
Hello & Thanks so much for visiting WAHWomen.com!  My name is Misty. I started my first home business in March of 2006 on a part-time basis. I
was working full-time outside the home as an administrative assistant for a small non-profit and very unsatisfied with my career, my financial
situation and my life in general.

My journey to being able to be a full-time WAHWoman included trying several home businesses and ventures before finding the one that was the
right fit for me. I was determined to make working at home full-time actually WORK for me and refused to let failure be an option.

While the journey has definitely had it's bittersweet moments,  it has all been worth it. I feel very blessed and grateful that God is allowing me the
opportunity to be a business owner at such a young age and to have built a successful home business of my own in such a short time.

I have been working at home full-time since November 2006. I am a Director with Tupperware as well as own WAHWomen.com and a two online
networking / shopping groups for WAHWomen.

I love being my own boss & being able to live life on my terms!

The income and flexible schedule are great, but the best rewards come from the friendships I have made, the confidence I have found and the joy
in being able to help others find and build successful home businesses.

    WHY WAHWomen.com?
When I started my own home business, I began looking for sites/groups that I could join to network, find friends, resources, promote my business
and learn how to successfully build a business.

There are so many awesome WAHM, SAHM websites/groups. There was just one little thing though- I'm not a mom (or a wife).  The owners have
been kind to allow all of us not yet moms be part of their groups and websites.  I have met so many fabulous ladies through these sites/groups and
am proud to be a part of them!  I will probably be WAHM one day too!

After some encouragement from my new online friends, I started a yahoo group- WAHW in late May 2006.

I really wanted a group- a place geared more towards women.  After all that's what we are first & foremost. Women!  We are the resilient ones that
can handle a full-time job, one (or many more than one) home business(es), helping pay/paying the bills, taking care of ourselves & our families, all
that life throws at us and keep it all together!

As the yahoo group began to quickly grow, I was inspired to also create a website geared towards WAHWomen.  I wanted a place where all of us
WAHWomen can come for information, resources, networking, promoting our businesses, sharing, interacting & making new friends- women to
    women!

I also wanted a place where people could go to support & shop with WAHW.  People have to buy items, gifts, supplies somewhere, let's encourage
them to shop with us! WAHWomen.com offers online vendor parties and we have Top 10 Google search engine rankings for various terms relating
    to online vendor parties.

My inspiration to create this website came partly from all the incredible WAHW that I have met & become friends with.  I am forever grateful to the
friends, support and encouragement from the amazing network of women and friends I have made in the online work at home community.

What began as a hobby  and a way for me to learn web and graphic design by learning as I went along has become so much more.  WAHWomen.
com has accomplished so much in it's first few months on the world wide web.  I am excited about what all is to come and I am excited to meet and
help more women who are looking to or building a home business.

    WHY Rosie the Riveter?
Perhaps you are wondering who the "We Can Do It" Woman on the picture on WAHWomen's logo is.  Maybe you aren't familiar with this woman's
history. (Per Wikipedia's explanation) Rosie the Riveter is a cultural icon of the United States, representing the six million women who manned the
manufacturing plants which produced munitions and material during World War II while the men (who traditionally performed this work) were off
fighting the war. This "character" is now considered a feminist icon in the US, and a herald of women's economic power to come.   (To learn more
    about Rosie, visit : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosie_the_Riveter )

Rosie represents you, me & every woman that is working hard to turn dreams/possibilities into reality! We are doing what we have to do to have
the lives we want, doing the things we love (and sometimes hate) to have what we know we deserve- stability, security, happiness & success
    for ourselves & our families!

    THE CHANCE TO GIVE BACK:
The online world and work at home community has given me so much, opened so many doors and created many wonderful friendships.

WAHWomen.com has allowed me to be able to give back to others as well as donate to charities that are near and dear to my heart such as the
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the American Heart Association.

$5 from every Lifetime Listing in our Business Directory is donated to the American Breast Cancer Foundation. We also have breast cancer
awareness t-shirts and tote bags with all proceeds going to the American Breast Cancer Foundation. We also held our first annual Online Vendor
Party for Breast Cancer Awareness in Oct. 2007, raising funds & awareness for breast cancer.

Beginning May 2007,  $5 from every Monthly Sponsor Listing will be donated to the American Heart Association.

We also hold other fundraisers for people and groups in need, such as the Give a Kid a Kit Fundraiser we did this past Christmas- providing
scrapbooking kits for Christmas to foster children in Gaston County, NC.

    MORE TO COME:
I hope you find WAHWomen.com helpful & enjoyable and continue to visit the site as there is still a lot of work to be completed, content to be added,
events and fundraisers to be held!

This website is a huge personal accomplishment for me & I am glad to be able to share it with you! Thanks to all you WAHWomen for your hard
work, your faith & most of all your friendship!

    Blessings & Prosperity,

    Misty Kearns
